Introduction

At Paqet, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our network diagnostic platform and related services.

By using Paqet's services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We encourage you to read this policy carefully and contact us if you have any questions.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

  • Infrastructure: We use enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with built-in redundancy and backup systems
  • Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption
  • Data retention: Diagnostic logs are retained for 90 days, account data is kept until account deletion
  • Geographic location: Data is primarily stored in secure data centers in the United States and European Union

Chrome Extension

The Paqet Chrome Extension lets you run SSL, DNS, header, redirect, and domain monitoring checks directly from your browser toolbar. This section describes what it stores and sends, in addition to the practices already described elsewhere in this policy.

What's Stored on Your Device

  • Session token: If you're signed in, your session token is stored locally in the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) so you stay logged in between uses
  • Anonymous visitor ID: If you're not signed in, a randomly generated identifier is stored locally to distinguish your usage from other anonymous users

Both are stored only on your device by the extension itself — the extension does not sync this data anywhere beyond what Chrome's own browser-sync settings may do.

What's Sent to Our Servers

  • Domain or hostname: The domain you enter or check is sent to our servers to run the requested diagnostic (SSL, DNS, headers, redirects, or monitoring)
  • Authentication: If you're signed in, your session token is sent with each request to identify your account; if you're not signed in, the anonymous visitor ID is sent instead

If you're signed in, the same account information (name, email) described under Information We Collect applies to your extension usage — the extension doesn't collect any additional account data of its own.

Active Tab Permission

The extension requests the activeTab permission solely to read your current tab's URL and pre-fill the domain field with its hostname when you open the popup. It does not read, inject, or modify any content on the page.

Logging Out

Logging out of the extension clears your locally stored session token immediately.

Third-Party Services

We work with trusted third-party service providers to deliver our services:

Analytics Providers

  • Google Analytics: For understanding user behavior and platform usage

Infrastructure Platforms

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud hosting and data storage
  • Cloudflare: Content delivery network and DDoS protection

Payment Processing

  • Stripe: Secure payment processing for premium subscriptions

Diagnostic Data Providers

Most diagnostic checks run entirely on our own infrastructure. A small number of checks send the domain, IP address, or ASN you are looking up to a public registry or data provider to retrieve the answer:

  • RIPEstat (RIPE NCC): Used for ASN and BGP routing lookups
  • ip-api.com: Used for ASN lookups and IP geolocation/ISP enrichment on reverse DNS results
  • Public DNSBL zones (e.g. Spamhaus, SpamCop, Barracuda, SORBS, SpamRATS, UCEPROTECT): Queried for blacklist checks

These lookups are anonymous — no API key or account identifying you is sent, only the target you asked us to check.

These providers have access only to the information necessary to perform their services and are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
